Not one to toot my own horn very often, but I had a first for me this past weekend. Opening day of Iowa's early muzzleloader season blessed me. Took a friend out that had never muzzleloader hunted to the private ground I hunt. About 8:20 AM this guy came in to 50 yards, put the X hairs on his shoulder and kerbloowee! The smoke cleared and he was running right at me. He tipped over about 20 yards away. This is a first for me as I rarely hunt with a gun, pretty much all archery. This is the first buck I have taken with a gun. Still pretty pumped nearly a week later. Attachments:

pat thats great congrats on your first muzzle loader buck and a good buck to boot... its great when a guy succeeds at a new first in hunting and is able to relive the feelings he had when he accomplished his other firsts... i guess its a feeling only and outdoorsman can feel i pity the people that never get to experence it. i have been lucky enough to have taken a buck with a bow, rifle, shotgun, and a muzzle loader... i am looking forward to taking one with a crossbow..
