Got out yesterday a few hours before sun up for some late season shooting here in N. Illinois on the Kankakee River with my new ten point crossbow. I usually shoot with a Black Widow recurve but these crossbows are alot of fun too. Carp were not thick but you could find them in the weed pockets around the islands and on the sand bars. Went over the basin and thought I would be turning around as soon as I got there due to the thick fog I seen on the DesPlaines, but was surprised to see little fog on the Kank. That changed a couple hours into the hunt though and was very thick by sun up..... Did pretty good for a few hours in the fog and cold taking 9..... I like bowfishing this time of year. The water really clears up and the weeds die off some. Water clarity was great today even with all the rain last week.
