Hi I am new here from South Africa.
I am glad to be a member of your discussion group.
In South Africa Bow fishing is quite a new thing, it is also a sport that is often frowned upon......... you know, many people are afraid of new things.... I have been bowfishing for 2 years now and I am realy a fanatic.
I shoot with a Matthews bow with ams retriever and light stryke laser. It is quit difficult to get bowfishing equipment in South Africa. If I could just get a website that can send a package (points) to a normal post office addres I think it would be much cheaper than courier.
We normally shoot in rivers from boats. It is quite dangerous Bowfishing here with all the crocodiles and hippo- but that is part of the fun I think....
We only target species that is not threatened and Carp. My biggest carp up to date is a 20 pounder. There is a lot of indigenous Barbel here as well in access of 40 pound.
We shoot a at places with rocks and I would like to get info on very strong points as well.
There is a lot of Americans coming here for normal hunting, if ever you come this way you can give me a shout to do some real African bowfishing with me and my friends from my pontoon-boat- that is if youre not afraid of crocodile and hippo...!
Once again thank you for being part of this group.
