It will probably awhile before I get to shoot another gar this big it this part of Tennessee; At least on the lakes that I bowfish. It was well fed on gizzard shad and inmature buffalo suckers.

It was 60.125" long and weighed 30ish lbs. (guestimate on weight). Big gar like this are commonplace in Texas, here in Tennessee it is a really big gar..!!

Where abouts you generall shoot. I am in cookville and always looking for a good lake within driving distance. Shoot me a message and maybe we could get together sometime and bust a few.

Sent you a PM In your area, I would highly recommend Cordell Hull lake. It is not far from you and is 100% better than Dale Hollow and Center Hill for bowfishing. The other two lakes have some huge monster common carp and a sizable gar population, but Cordell Hull has tremendous population of Buffalo (small and large mouth buffalo) and common carp. If you are wanting to fill the boat, that is about the best in our area. I love it there.
