I have a big light on my boat that keeps overheating on me and will shut down for about 30 minutes or so till it cools down again. Anybody know how to fix this. I have nothing mounted around it that could be causing this or retaining excess heat.

It's a metal halide or sulphur, one of the big lights but I'm not for sure which. I don't have the boat here with me now I keep it down at a buddies closer to the lakes we fish. Hope this helps I can find out more later

The light will start to go out and then the generator will sputter some but usually doesn't die but it will get close to dying. I just assumed this was due to chenge in output power and the generator was trying to compensate for the change, but I'm no expert. This problem just started and we wern't even pulling that much of a load on the generator, an 800 watt halogen light and this halide light that is going off. We run a 6250 watt generator that has never given us any other problems before. I'm at a loss with this one, any help is greatly appreciated.
