Hey, just out of curiosity, what do you think the best bowfishing point is? I am currently using the muzzy shure shot point, but I recently bought an arrow with a sting-a-ree point as well, since I've been having quite a few pull-offs with the shure shot. I couldn't find many reviews of the arrow tips online when I looked, but I thought that it would be interesting to see which points other bowfishermen have had good luck with.

Only sureshots here. Holds great, easy to get out of fish, or a cattail roots for that matter.

The arrow that I'm currently using I bought either last spring or maybe it was two years ago. I don't have any pictures of my arrow, but here is link to the same arrow that I have. www.amsbowfishing.com/product_info.php?cPath=25_60&products_id=28I guess I was wrong about me using the shure shot point. It looks like the quick release point is the tip that I have. And just to get something straight, I'm not saying that the point I have is a bad point. The main reason I bought the arrow with a sting-a-ree point is because I like to experiment with different options to see what gets the best results. I just was curious what other people were shooting. Thanks for the responses.

Hey mitch i always use the muzzy sure shot. I've never had any trouble with them but one thing you need to do that helps is pinch the barbs down as far as you can without interfering with the release mechanism. This helps with penatration and makes a smaller hole but doesnt hurt the holding power.

The barbs come sqeezed down and since you dont have to completely remove the tip to turn the barb they even better. www.innerloc.com/Pages/p_p-tech1.htm

Sting a Ree TOURNAMENT point or Grapple 3 NOTHING gets away With the grapple 3 you have to unscrew the point to reverse the barbs (sometimes I dont really like to smell like carp all night) with the SaR Tourney point all you have to do is turn the shaft and the barbs reverse.

I really Love the 'Sting A Ree' from Cajun, I used Muzzy carp tips for years and had quite a few pull-off/tear-outs, I then switched to the Cajun Warhead and liked those, but my favorite is the original Sting a Ree tip.
I shoot all night, hit rocks and just resharpen the originals on the belt sander and I'm good to go again.. I hear people say that they have had fish "Spin-off" with them, but I have never had one do it yet, and have shot several barrels of fish with them.
I think the Grapples from Innerloc hold better than any I've seen, but they are somewhat of a hassle to remove the fish, it hink the Sting-A-Ree is a good compromise between holding power and ease of removal.
Just my $0.02

i use sure shots, sting-a-rees, whalers, cajun 4 barbs, and cajun piranha and they all work well. its all about what you like and where you shoot the fish.
