Got back to basics and took the long bow & tape on hand wrap reel out this morning and hit the basin for a few pre-dawn hours of bowfishing! Water was very muddy pretty much everywhere on the DesPlaines River except near the DuPage, and there were loads of fish. Most hard to see and moving but lots of action. Ended up with 11 carp and 1 buff. Could have taken a hundred but only needed a dozen for my buddies trap line. As for the long bow, it is a great bow to bowfish with. With the aluminum hand wrap reel, the whole think barely weighed 1.5 lbs and is great to carry all night. Takes more time to re-load and longer shots are harder, but alot of fun and no snags! Loads of good bowfishing left out there! After I shot my fill of fish I took some on water photos of the fish in the cleaner water.
