I bought one of these, haven't taken it outdoors yet but been using it in the basement. I'm having a problem, every 5 to 10 shots the cap covering the battery compartment comes unscrewed a bit apparently from vibration and the laser stops working until I tighten up the cap again. Any ideas?

i haven't had that problem but i bet if you put some plumbers tape it would cure it.. i will look closely at mine to see if i can see why mine stays on

Okay thanks. It also seems very sensitive to loosening. If it's not "perfectly tight" the laser doesn't work. I'm hesitant to really crank it down since it's fairly thin aluminum.

What bow are you shooting out of curiosity?

I put it on a Monster Dragon. I also have an Osprey but I didn't want to mess up the sights on the Osprey if the laser sight didn't work out because the Osprey is sighted in and ready to go.

OK, this sight is something I am very interested in, but would like to hear the pros and cons. I could see how its performance could vary on different models of bows. Each bow will have a different amount of hand shock that could create issues such as components vibrating loose.

ok Pat here is the way I see it
it has never vibrated apart for me but i have bumped the plug and knocked that loose the green dot works better than the red during the day but takes a lot to get used to aiming with the refraction laser is not where your pointing the bow (hard to explaine)
it is awesome at night
it dont work in the cold
i shoot it on an ams fish hawk

I will fiddle around with it some more, haven't had it long, only reporting first experiences with it. If I have to tape the battery cap to keep it from coming off I will do that. Not ideal but hey you gotta do what works.

It doesn't have any more vibration than the Osprey. I shot some more in the basement today and did much better but I made sure the cap was tight before I shot each time. I noticed that the intensity varies some. Maybe I'm not pressing the switch button hard enough. Probably because tightening my hand on the grip is opposite to what I naturally do when shooting.

Thanks Sam!
Maybe try putting a bit of string wax in the threads of the cap. It works on other things on a bow, may be a ticket there too!

My lightstrike is sitting in the garage collecting dust, Because of an issue with the switch shorting out, Also noticed the cap was a bit weak and the rubber grommet is kinda cracked. Seemed like a good idea at the time though
